Most elephants, buffalos and zebras are at the Niassa Reserve in the northernmost part of the country. If you are lucky, you will also see lions and leopards. Gorongosa National Park, however, was completely devastated, fortunately a collaboration project with South Africa's Banhime and Kruger National Parks is being considered at the moment. Mozambique's publicity campaigns mention their neighbouring countries' rich reserves where birds and flamingoes have the place of honour wherever there are water points.
