To the north-westernmost of the country, Kaokoland, the region of mountains and Himbas, the red people, is another of the country's emblems after the dunes and the oryx. Impossible to find a tourist brochure not containing a portrait of a Himbae woman, bust afore. 4x4 tours are organized to give you the possibility to explore the region. The region is supposedly threatened by the building of a hydroelectric dam.
