In Swakopmund, the buildings built before 1915 give the town an atmosphere called "German colonial". Recent buildings remind you that the town is developing economically. Swakopmund is a holiday town, much appreciated for its temperate climate. In summer, temperatures remain around 20 °C and the ocean is cold. Things you can do : go to the beach, surfing, fishing. Tours to Cape Cross for the sea lions, to the dunes of the Namib and to Sandwich Lagoon. 20 miles southbound, Walvis Bay is located on a lagoon. You can watch up to 80 different bird species.
