The climate is of tropical oceanic type. Austral summer running from December to March is the hottest season (26°C) but also the rainiest. Austral winter stretches from June to September, the sky is clear and the temperatures remain mild (22°C). In April-May, it is hot (24°C) but the weather is unstable and cloudy. In October-November however, clouds are sparse and the average temperature remains around 23°C. The best period to visit New Calendonia is therefore from June to November, meaning you avoid the extreme heat and the rain season.
