The New Caledonian Museum, located on rue Maréchal-Foch, is dedicated to Melanesian heritage. You will learn about the architecture of domestic and ceremonial huts and the function of the sculpted elements and statuettes decorating the interior of the huts. In another hall you can see Kanak coinage, pottery and petroglyphs. Outside, you can visit a botanical garden displaying several plants for ritual usage.
