Grande Terre - The southern tip The red dust to the rear of the photo turns into a horrible mud when it rains, so you'd be well-advised to stick to the roads if a rain shower takes you by surprise! © Gil Giuglio
The southernmost point of Grande Terre unfolds onto wild stretches of sparse vegetation. Not far from Yaté, the mud track runs across an unusual region, cut into two parts by the plain of the Lakes. It is a splendid place, but one which should be avoided on rainy days, because the omnipresent red dust soon turns into glue!
