The Isle of Pines - The caves The caves around the Isle of Pines were probably home to the first people to settle on the island. Do be sure to seek further information before visiting them though. ©Gil Giuglio
The island also has several caves. Ouinda's is located at the crossroads of the road to Moué's airfield. You can get to the site in 20 minutes on foot. Numerous tumuli punctuate the surroundings; excavations uncovered lime blocks, the origin of which is still a mystery, as well as the remains of a sepulchre. Oumagni cave is located close to the Trois-Banians area, and if you keep on walking a little more, you will discover another cave even more monumental - Ouatchia's. The site is on the territory of the Touété tribe and many legends and traditions are inextricably tied to this land.
