In Christchurch, your orientation point is Cathedral square. It is the heart of the city, where Christchurch's cathedral stands in particular. You can climb to the top of the steeple and enjoy the panorama of the city. Then go in the direction of Victoria square where you will find Canterbury Provincial Government. The architecture is of gothic style, and the interior is richly decorated with mosaics and carved stone. Christchurch has also numerous parks such as Hagley Park, the largest. You can walk or cycle there.
