Etihad expands Oz codeshare

Etihad expands Oz codeshare 15/03/2010

Etihad Airways has expanded its codeshare agreement with Qantas, thereby increasing the number of destinations available for passengers travelling to Australia.

This now means that the Eithad code 'EY' is to be placed on flights from Sydney to Ayers Rock (Uluru), Alice Springs, Canberra, Hobart and Melbourne as well as flights from Brisbane to Cairns.

In addition, the airline recently secured 14 extra weekly flight frequencies between its base in Abu Dhabi and Australia.

The new codeshare will begin in March next year and means that seven flights can be operated to any hub in Australia; including the airline's current destinations of Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.
