An entrepreneur from The Netherlands, Jim Halfens, has come up with a unique way to help couples in rocky marriages end things in the most amicable of ways. He has set up a package called Divorce Hotel which brings couples for a weekend away in Holland to one of six boutique hotels. Priced between $2,500 and $10,000 depending on the circumstances, the deal includes everything the couple needs to end their relationship including lawyers, mediators, psychologists and of course separate accommodations. Upon check-out, guests are presented with their official divorce papers and leave no longer tied to one another. Mr. Halfens said of his idea: ?They arrive on Friday and we give them everything they need to leave Sunday with their divorce papers. Divorces can cost a lot of money and a lot of time. Here, it's done in three days.
"The marriage failed, and that's negative. But it's also a new start, and that's positive. The only thing we can do is offer a better solution than fighting for years."
With divorces in the States sometimes lasting months and even years, Mr. Halfens plans to set up a similar service over there.
