As Ryanair abandon its operations to and from Manchester airport, Jet2 have shown their commitment to travel in the North West by adding three new routes to their summer 2010 schedule from the hub. This comes at a time when the airline has recorded its busiest ever month this August since starting to fly over six years ago. The three new routes are to Kos, Venice and Gran Canaria, the former two being brand new services for the North West. Jet2.com's boss Philip Meeson said of the launch: "It is fantastic to be able to offer people flying from Manchester a number of brand new holiday destinations direct from the region. No other airline currently operates a scheduled service to Kos and Venice and we are confident that these will be extremely popular routes.
"We have a great understanding of what the people of Manchester want from their holidays-fantastic leisure destinations, low fares and a friendly service. This is proving to be a winning formula which seems to be working this summer with August being a bumper month for bookings. With the new routes we have just announced, we will continue giving people what they want."
