Six weeks after opening, Legoland Florida has announced plans to develop the first ever Legoland Water Park. Scheduled to open in time for summer 2012, the water park will feature a wave pool, lazy river, tube slides, body slides and a water play area for toddlers.

"We're very excited to share plans for this amazing new attraction" said Legoland Florida's general manager, Adrian Jones. "True to our mission, the water park attraction has been designed for families with children ages two to 12 and will add hours of water play to an already full day and move Legoland Florida into a multi-day experience for vacationers. The additional also adds another great value proposition for our Annual Pass members."

One unique addition to the water park will be the 'Build-A-Raft River', which allows families to design and build a Lego raft to sail in it down the 1,000-foot-long lazy river, as well as two 375-foot intertwining tube slides.

Single-day visitors to the attraction will have to pay an additional US$12 (?7.70) to access the water park, while children under three will be charged US$3.
