The German national airline, Lufthansa, will be boasting a channel that may sway you before booking yoru next trip - if you are a die-hard footy fan, that is. In order for fans to be able to follow UEFA European Football Championship even while up in the air, Lufthansa has now added Sports 24 - and best of all, it's free. The sports channel has special airline rights for all major sports events such as the UEFA cup and the London Olympic Games.
The signal is transmitted directly on board by satellite via Lufthansa's FlyNet broadband Internet service and from there to the entertainment system. Unlike the Internet, this service, which is already available on three recently delivered Airbus A330s, is free of charge for passengers.
To find out what's on, see the Sports 24 television guide.
