After a bout of surprisingly mild temperatures, weather warnings of heavy snow and strong winds are back. Forecasters predict 6 inches of snowfall this weekend for England and Scotland.
The North and West will be worst affected this time, instead of the east and south, and the Siberian winds are to be replaced with north-westerly Arctic gales.
There are wind gusts of up to 55mph warned, which could cause transport disruptions and difficult driving conditions.
The Met Office has issued a blizzard warning for Scotland while the rest of the UK can expect temperatures to plummet.
Met Office forecaster Dan Williams said: "We'll keep track of the situation and keep everyone up to date with the latest developments."
