TFL creates Olympics traffic hotspots map 03/02/2012

Many parts of London will be busy during the upcoming Olympic Games, as events take place all over the capital. Transport for London (TFL) has released a 'traffic hotspots' map to help travellers avoid the busiest parts of town during the Games.

The level of impact on roads will vary by day, time and location. Some events and Olympic infrastructures will cause some roads to operate differently either throughout, or at different times, the Games. To find out more, see the Olympic Route Network and Central London Zone (http://www.tfl.gov.uk/gettingaround/london2012/21858.aspx).

The maps provided on the TFL website show what impacts are expected by day, time and location to allow businesses to plan their operations accordingly.

Download Olympic Games (http://www.tfl.gov.uk/assets/downloads/Olympics_download_optimised.pdf) and Paralympics Games (http://www.tfl.gov.uk/assets/downloads/Paralympics_download_optimised.pdf) maps.

Use the planning tool (http://www.tfl.gov.uk/gettingaround/london2012/21806.aspx#2) to see how your journey might be affected and assess your options.

Seventy per cent of traffic should remain unaffected by the Games, however, journeys into or across areas directly impacted by the Games, such as near venues, the ORN or Road event routes, will see some disruption.
