The caravan of Azalai The Azalai caravan, Niger Azalai is the name that the Tuareg give to the caravan of camels that crosses the Sahara to trade rock salt. It moves from Agadez to Bilma in Niger. © D.R.

In autumn, nomads gather in the region of Agadez for the Azalai, the great salt caravan journey to Bilma via Tazolé. Over the course of the journey, you can see camels gathering during their breaks at oases.
