The climate is equatorial in the South, tropical in the Centre and arid in the North. In the South, the average temperature is 22 °C; and 19 °C in the North. Seasonal temperature variations are very significant in the North, where they can reach 40 °C. In the South, the rain season gives high precipitation levels, from April to October, with a peak in June. The best season runs during dry season, from November to March.
