Yankari National Park, located 140 miles east of Jos, is the best-known and best-developed park. It stretches over 866 sq mi. There are hundreds of elephants, buffalos, hippopotamuses, lions, crocodiles, gazelles, lynx and baboons. The best season to come and admire the animals is before the rain season, between February and April. There is also a lake, formed by the hot springs of Wikki, with crystal clear mineral water, at a constant temperature of 31 °C.
