Sauna

Sauna
A Norwegian sauna The sauna is a Norwegian invention It protects against colds during the harsh winters. Ralph Braumer / age fotostock;

There are saunas in the towns and cities, but also in the countryside, which differ a little. In the countryside, saunas are situated close to the water. In town, there is a difference between the hotel saunas, public saunas and residence saunas. Saunas are used to activate blood circulation by alternating cold and hot. The heat reaches 80 to 100°C, it is increased by the evaporation of the water thrown onto hot stones. To cool down, you are meant to dive into a lake or the sea, or take a cold shower. Always built with wood, the interior of a sauna is made of large tiers. The temperature gets higher as you go higher up. The air circulation and humidity level must be set properly. A sauna that is too dry and too hot must be avoided. Of Finnish origin, saunas are a good way to relax.
