Midnight sun means that you can see as if it were the middle of the day. This fleeting and astonishing phenomenon becomes visible only at a certain latitude. The light is special, almost surreal. A definition of midnight sun is that at its lowest, the sun must not completely disappear behind the horizon. The more you head north, the longer it is visible. Similarly, in winter, the further north you go, the longer the polar night is.
