Tromso, nicknamed 'the Paris of the North' is a university city where people like to go out and party. Cultural activity and nightlife have remained very important here. Tromso is considered as the capital city of northern Norway. In the city centre, you can see some wooden houses. The city also has a developed fishing trade and whaling industry. Make sure to go to the harbour and spend your evening in one of the many ancient sailors' bars, such as the Cormoran.
