All Around the World Watch

All Around the World Watch

This distinctive piece from Mr Jones Watches means that the constant traveller will never be left arriving late to an appointment, simply because they forgot to change the time forward an hour. It's innovative, flawlessly designed and brings together practicality with passion.

The watch is comprised of eight different hour hands, which may sound utterly confusing but it really is anything but. Each hand is an intricately detailed landmark of different time zones around the world. Say you're in London, look for the Big Ben marker; or if you're in Paris, it's the Eiffel Tower. A pigeon (as Mr Jones' website puts it, the obvious 'universal city dweller') circles the buildings, showing the minutes. Its bright red colouring makes it very easy to pick out against the white background and black motifs of the hour hands - again a practical move for those who only have time to throw a glance in the general direction of their wrist when on a tight schedule.

Designer Crispin Jones has been designing and releasing watches since 2007. He releases four or five limited edition designs a year (of which this watch is one) with 100 pieces in each collection. Each watch is numbered on the back, so you know exactly which one you got. The delightful Mr Jones even signs the insert card for you, and sends your watch in a presentation box featuring specially commissioned artwork by Beibei Nei. The designs which sell well are then modified slightly and put into a permanent collection, so as not to detract from the exclusivity of the limited editions. But whichever watch you go for, you are guaranteed a very unique piece. For the traveller however, than can be only one choice - all around the world.
