As low-cost and upmarket airlines alike become increasingly strict on luggage allowance, this week's item provides the perfect (well, almost perfect) solution to a traveller's baggage problems.
The Stuffa Jacket, a wearable gilet/bodywarmer, is the latest product on the market for those needing to smuggle a couple of extra pounds of luggage onto a flight or to pack light for an expedition in the great outdoors. More than capable of holding enough bits and bobs for a weekend away, the jacket has 12 compartments in total - four large ones on the back and eight small pockets in the front.
As well as being the perfect smuggling gadget, the jacket also distributes the weight of your packing more evenly, and looks good in the attempt. The brand's ethos, 'Wherever you are going and whatever you are doing, don't let your bags weigh you down. Stuff this jacket and go' really does shine through and the jacket is available in red or black in both women's and men's sizes.
Those considering stuffing the entire contents of their suitcase into the jacket will be disappointed however, especially those who are not too keen on travelling light. The jacket does very well at holding small or medium-sized items but when it comes to heavier items of clothing or a small laptop for example, the pockets don't quite stretch far enough.
Then again, if we're being realistic, you can't expect to look this good and wear an entire suitcase on your person at the same time. All in all, a good compromise.
The Stuffa Jacket will be available from November 2012 and retail for around £95.
