The best places to get goods are the stands in the bazaars of Lahore, Peshawar, Karachi and Rawalpindi. You can find there a great variety of handicraft objects: carved wood objects, hand-woven wool rugs, bags, leather shoes and sandals, embroidery ornate with small mirrors, Bukhara silk and fabric, Kashmir shawls, saris, pottery, copper or silver items, bracelets and ancient jewels, wool kaftans, semi-precious stones (lapis-lazuli), etc.
Haggling is one of the unavoidable rituals.
Shops are generally open from 9 AM to 7 PM, with breaks for the meals, when it is hottest. They are shut on Fridays.
