All located in the north of the country, the mountain ranges of Hindu Kush, Pamir, Karakorum and the Himalayas, created by the collision between the Indian plate and the Asian plate, are still undergoing tremendous tectonic thrust, with fracture zones visible to the naked eye. Very different from India's and Nepal's, Pakistan's mountain ranges are characterized by the absence of natural vegetation, being located outside the monsoon zones. The geology here is particularly spectacular.
