Panama City Do not be fooled by the ultramodern skyscrapers of the city's skyline: the historic district is still very visible within the city. Vladimira Dvorakova / age fotostock;
Panama City, the capital city, is modern and very commercial. It stretches over 66 miles along the Pacific coast. The district of San Felipe "Casco Viejo" contains the most beautiful buildings from the colonial era: Bolivar square, the Presidential palace and the Historic museum of Panama. To the East of the city, you should visit "Old Panama", the remains of the first city founded by the Spaniards. At night time, if you want to go salsa dancing, why not go to San Felipe and Via España. Heading North-East in the city, visitors will be able to observe the ships coming into the Panama canal, the world's busiest maritime passageway.
