The best diving sites are Alotau, Kavieng, Kimbe, Lae, Lorengau, Madang, Rabaul and Wuvulu islands. Or just bring your mask and snorkel. The region of Madang has the best reputation, you can see numerous shipwrecks from World War II, which divers enjoy taking a look at. From Madang, you can access the near-by Kranket and Siar islands, ideal for swimming and lagoon diving. You can have a pleasant stay in the village of Tufi, in the province of Oro, which offers excellent diving opportunities. Alotau, in the province of Milne Bay, also has very good diving sites. A small and peaceful harbour, it is the starting point for the exploration of the Entrecasteaux islands, the Louisiade archipelago and the Trobriand islands.
