Over 200 miles of galleries in total lead down to the underground quarries of rock salt. Unique in the world, this natural site was the first in Poland to appear on the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites. A miniature town was built between 195 and 330 ft underground after someone realized the beneficial effects that the air composition in the mines had on some allergies. Now the tourist spot stretches for over nearly 2 miles and gives you the chance to see lakes, caves as well as a chapel carved out of rock salt and decorated with sculptures made from the same material.
