The hinterland desert consists almost completely of stones and dazzling white sand dunes. Being accompanied by an experienced guide is highly recommended. The best season to visit the desert is during the winter months. You can drive full-speed in the sand canyons and climb to the top of vertiginous hills and back down free-wheeling, with the engine off, to the bottom of the dunes. A guaranteed thrill!
