Blessed with lush rainforest, pristine beaches, unique wildlife and other natural wonders the World Heritage Listed Fraser Island is a special place indeed. For many visitors to Australia, the world's largest sand island is an itinerary highlight. Time-pressed tourists usually squeeze in a trip on their way to Queensland's other big draw, the Great Barrier Reef. But what can you see in as little as 48 hours? We decided to find out, setting off with Sunset Safaris for two days of frenzied sightseeing. Although there wasn't a whole lot of time to hang around and really experience the place, the tour is an ideal introduction to Fraser Island and gives visitors a taste of its unmatched beauty.
Two and three day tours to Fraser Island with Sunset Safaris (Telephone: +617 3287 1644) from $AUD299 (plus $AUD60 national park and ferry fees) per person (ex. Brisbane).
