If you don't do anything else in Angkor, you must see the sun set from the heights of the Phnom Bakheng temple (a part of the Angkor complex). There is a rough stone path for the bravest travellers-beware as it is often slippery. The others can ride up on elephat back. No need to look further than outside the temples, under the trees; the elephants are equipped with specially-placed platforms for sitting on during the ride. It takes half an hour to get up to the top and although a little shaky, it will always remain an unforgetable experience.
