When observing a map of the world you can hardly distinguish this small dot in the middle of the Indian Ocean. While Reunion is tiny in terms of its physical size, it has a surprising diversity of landscapes and reliefs. Born out of a volcano (Piton de la Fournaise) that broke through the surface of the Indian Ocean 3 million years ago, the island was to become a pint-sized paradise. Nowadays its relief allows at once a seaside holiday and one incorporating hiking and adventure. Observed from the sky, the contrast is even more stunning: minute by minute, the landscapes change at a spectacular rate.
