Parks in bad weather - England

Special feature England: Parks in bad weather

Parks in bad weather
As the weather in London is not always good and it would be a pity not to wander around parks during those days, here are a few recommendations to enjoy the parks when it is raining without drowning. First option, fancy, organic and tasteful: the Petersham Nurseries restaurant and tea room. As it is slightly off-centered of London, you have to catch the tube to Richmond, South-West London, and not exactly in Richmond Park, the largest park in the London agglomeration. Who cares: the setting, a bistro style café, with a veranda and loads of plants inside and outside, gives you the impression you are in the countryside; the food is exquisite and mostly organic. This place being very sought after, book in advance for meals, or come for tea time. Another option, more central and very high: the panoramic bar called Windows and located on the 28th floor of the Hilton Park Lane. Overlooking Hyde Park, ideal at night (city lights around the park) and in day time. Or even the Island bar, found in the Royal Lancaster hotel, on the avenue that runs along Kensington Gardens.
