All natural - Greek Islands

Special feature Greek Islands : All natural

All natural

You will not be left indifferent once your taste buds have tasted Greek cuisine. All the ingredients used are fresh and 100% natural. Many sorts of bread exist, but the most common is pita bread, which you will find in most eateries. Greek cheeses are often served as part of a mezze with pre-dinner drinks. Apparently, there are as many varieties of Greek cheeses as there are Greek villages! Mezzes are actually of Turkish origin, often a very tasty and inexpensive choice, especially popular in summer as a mezze is not too heavy. Among the myriad dishes, you will find vine leaves stuffed with either rice or meat. There will be platefuls of cheeses, aubergine salads and taramasalata. Everything comes accompanied with pita bread.

The locals particularly enjoy grilled meat and fish. One thing for sure, is that you will be spoiled for choice! Greek specialities include beef, chicken, lamb and pork served on skewers, boiled, roasted, grilled or fried. Fish is a little rarer and more expensive but the Greeks have also mastered how to cook it. If fish is your thing, then we recommend trying the octopus and calamari. And of course, lest not we forget the essential thread of the all-so tasty Greek olive oil! To finish off the feast, why not indulge in a bowl of Greek yoghurt or fresh fruit (particularly watermelon and dried figs).
