As you rise out of the heliport over the Hudson, Manhattan and New Jersey will open out below you to the right and left respectively. The first major sight to watch out for is the South Street Seaport just a little further north than the heliport. Look slightly to the right and you will see Ground Zero, the site where the Twin Towers once stood and where a huge construction project is taking place to build, amongst others, Freedom Tower. Next up is SoHo and the Meatpacking district where you'll be able to spot the Highline Elevated Park and the new
Trump Soho hotel, the tallest building in the district. Midtown highlights include the Empire State Building, Madison Square Gardens, Penn Station, the Chrysler Building, Times Square and, docked at a pier off of West 46th Street, the USS Intrepid. Then comes Uptown, with the impressive spectacle of Central Park and the Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis Reservoir, Columbus Circle and the Dakota Buildings. On the New Jersey side of the Hudson, you'll see the districts of Newark and Hoboken (hometown of Frank Sinatra) as well as the Goldman Sachs building and the Colgate Clock, the largest in the world. Your pilot should also point out the spot, marked with a buoy, where Chesley Sullenberger, better known as 'Sully', successfully ditched US Airways flight 1549 on the Hudson, saving all 155 passengers on board. As you come in to land, you'll notice Brooklyn and Manhattan Bridges.
