There are several tours options available, each one varying in terms of time in the air and attractions to be seen. Depending on which one you choose, there will be a minimum of two or four people on your flight. If you are on your own, ask to be seated at the front of the helicopter with the pilot as you will get the best view and see get to marvel at the controls! The basic tour lasts 15 minutes and starts off over New York Harbor and heads north along the Hudson River, along Manhattan Island. The highlights of the tour are undoubtedly the State of Liberty, the islands off Manhattan, the famous landmarks of Manhattan itself, the bridges connecting Manhattan to the mainland and the contrasting views of Newark and Hoboken in New Jersey. With the 15-minute tour you'll go as far as half way up Central Park, but you can go further if you choose the 20-minute or 30-minute options which include the Yankee Stadium (non-match days), Columbia University and Harlem or all the above plus Verrazano Bridge and views of Coney, Hoffman and Swinburne Islands respectively. Note that none of the tours include flying over Manhattan is this is no longer permitted. Your pilot will provide a commentary, but this in English only. A GPS-activated commentary device is planned as soon as the technology becomes available. Prices start from $139 per person, plus security/fuel fees.
