There are of course several different companies offering similar helicopter tours and each one has promoters out on the street in their brightly coloured uniforms plugging their respective operator. How do you know which one to choose? Well, our favourites are the guys down at Helicopter Flight Services (HFS, the ones with the red shirts!). They have over 25 years of experience in flying tourists around Manhattan in their fleet of five Bell 407 machines. This may be a smaller fleet than other companies, but it is quality here that counts with large windows and comfortable passenger seats. They are also the only company to boast a Terminal Collision Avoidance System which reduces even further the unlikely event of a mid-air accident. Their friendly staff will make even the most nervous flyer feel at ease and will guide you through the safety procedures (see below) clearly and confidently.
