You must go shopping at the Grand Bazaar, the largest covered market in Istanbul. A wide range of tastes, smells and colours await you. There are no less than three thousand shops under the archways: jewellery, carpets, leather... There is certainly enough of everything to satisfy all tastes and budgets. We hope that your haggling skills are up to scratch because in Turkey, you will need patience to snag those great bargains. The merchants will compete in courtesy and kindness. They will offer you apple tea or Turkish coffee especially if the deal looks good.
