If you've got time to spare, then a visit to this sumptuous palace is a necessity. The Dolmabahçe palace was built in reference to the occidental palaces, a particular attention (more oriental) was given to the creation of the Harem. The most important part of the Dolmabahçe palace is the one called Mabeyn, that is where the state affairs were handled by the Padischah. Medhal Salonu, the entrance sitting room, Kristal Merdiven, the crystal staircase that lead to the floors above, Süfera Salonu, sitting room in which the ambassadors were welcomed and Kirmizi Oda, the red room, where they met the Padischah, all those rooms are ornamented and decorated with imagery of the sumptuous history of the Ottoman Empire. A true delight for the eyes.
