You can only get to this cirque by helicopter or on foot, but you can drive close to it. Allow an hour and a half's drive from Saint Gilles to Maïdo. This viewpoint overlooks the site at an altitude of 5,906 ft and from there; there is a hiking path which meets various islets of the cirque ?La Nouvelle', in particular. Do not forget to take warm clothes with you because the sun tends to go in after 11:00 am and it sometimes rains in the afternoon.
