Reunion has a poor reputation as far as beaches are concerned, but it still boasts a few little gems. Other than Boucan Canot beach, north of Saint Gilles, which unfortunately proves difficult to visit when the sea is rough, Saint Gilles Lagoon has some beautiful beaches, like Hermitage beach, which is particularly splendid when the sun sets.
