  Comment Cheap, friendly hostel ideally situated just a few minutes walk from mainline stations in the delightful Bloomsbury area.

  Advantages Great location, comfortable beds and a reassuring emphasis on security - identity is checked by staff in the street. Granny friendly!

  Disadvantages Lack of privacy in the showers - communal changing room and the dirty water was also communal. Hard to avoid paddling in dirty water!
