The Westin Trillium is located in Ontario's largest ski region: Blue Mountain. Two hours' drive from Toronto airport, the hotel is part of a recent resort complex built around a well-designed manmade lake that has proven extremely popular mainly with Canadians and especially during the ski season. However, the resort is open all year round and has its advantages throughout the seasons. Witness the Indian summer in autumn as the leaves change from vibrant greens to fiery reds, make the most of the area's skiable domain in the winter (minimum temperature -10°C), in spring, see the snow give way to blossoming flowers and new leave, and in the summer, make the most of the lush vegetation and explore the area by cycling along the Apple Pie Trail or one of the other myriad cycling itineraries. The 'village', as the complex is called, looks just like a wooden model town and rides on the kitsch wave. With a particular atmosphere, the experience isn't everyone's cup of tea but it is ideal for families and groups of friends looking for a diverse range of onsite activities, restaurants and entertainment.
