Lake Kivu, in the West, is one of Rwanda's major attractions. Very much like an inland sea covering 1025 miČ, its shore is shredded, forming a multitude of little islets, peninsulas and fjords. Three major resort towns, located on the lake shore, offer facilities for accommodation and relaxation: Giseyni, Kibuye and Cyangugu.
