The capital city of Upolu, Apia, is a small picturesque town on Upolu's north coast. Close to the main square where the clock tower sits imposingly, you will stroll from the flea market to some churches, before visiting Vailima, 3 miles out of town, the old house where the Scottish writer, Robert-Louis Stevenson lived, now wonderfully restored and transformed into a museum. The writer's tomb is situated a little further away, on the top of Mount Vaea.
