Climate São Tomé and Príncipe

Of equatorial and tropical type, the climate is hot and humid, with a rain season running from October to May (heavier showers in March and April). There are several micro-climates, in particular on the island of São Tomé, where the North benefits from drier weather, whereas the South is rainier.
The best season to visit São Tomé and Príncipe is really up to your personal preferences. Some will prefer dry season (June to September) despite the cloudy sky, whereas water sports enthusiasts will prefer blue sky alternating with showers, during rain season.
Average temperatures are 26 °C in January, 27 °C in April, 25 °C in July and 26 °C in October. Plan to take some warm clothing anyway, for the evening and time spent in altitude.
