In the northern part of the island, the jungle is scattered with baobabs, waterfalls and rocky spurs, the last remaining indications of the past volcanic activity. Some rocky spurs can reach an altitude of 19689 ft, such as Cao Grande, the island's emblematic peak. Near Trinidade, you will find the São Nicolau waterfall.
