The Asir National Park is very popular with the Saudis, who come here to seek some fresh air at the week-end. Abha also offers the possibility of accommodation. The countryside, notably the view that it offers of the desert to the east, is magnificent, however, though there is little possibility of walking in the mountains. You must go and see the ruins of the village of Habella, 37 miles from Abha, which is nestled against the mountainside above the terraced crops.
