In the north of the country, Jubbah holds some treasures that are very seldom visited and difficult to access, notably cave paintings that date back more than 5,000 years ago. In the same area, the small town of Domat al-Jandal is an important but little known archaeological site. The foundations of the ruins of Qasr Marid go back to the Nabataean era, and their fortress was restored in the 19th century. As for the Omar mosque, this is one of the oldest in the country.
