In the Asir, the site of Najran is slightly more visited than the country's other historical sites. However, this oasis has been inhabited for 4,000 years and holds major relics. Its fortress dates from the pre-Islamic period. Unfortunately, you cannot visit the al-Aan palace, which dominates the oasis. On the other hand, you can note the very strong Yemenite influence both in the architecture and in the inhabitants' costumes, whose skin is much darker than in the rest of the country.
